Common Features of Housechek 600 Series DVR's

Video Compression - a choice of MPEG4 or Wavelet compression for local recording is selectable by camera (MPEG4 gives about 4 times the compression of Wavelet).

Video Resolution - video pixel resolution of 640x480 or 320x240 per camera image is selectable and changeable at any time for display and recording but all cameras must be the same.

Individual Camera Adjustment - brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation are all adjustable for each individual camera.

Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) Support - various models of PTZ cameras can be controlled through the software, both locally and remotely, using GV-I/O or GV-PT/NET add-on adapters.

Multiple Display Options - live video can be displayed in single camera or various multi-camera modes. Multi-camera display can be immediately switched to single camera by one mouse click on the desired camera image (and back again by mouse click).

Live Display and Recording - concurrent recording of live video and playback of recorded video supported.

Recording Choices - recording is selectable by camera on continuous or on "motion detect" basis. motion detection is performed by the software and sensitivity is adjustable.  A schedule of recording can be set by camera, by time and date.

Mask Function - Areas for "motion ignore" can be masked for each camera image. Multiple mask areas are permitted.

Recording Playback - log files of recorded video clips can be sorted and accessed by year/date/time. Video recordings can be played back while current video recording is taking place, although speed may be reduced. Recordings can be zoomed in/out and moved around the viewing area on playback. Recordings be played at normal speed, up to 8 times normal speed, as slow as 1/8 normal speed, or frame by frame. Recording can be played for one or all cameras at the same time. Editing features are provided for single frame image sharpening, exporting, contrast/brightness adjustment.

Smart Recording - can be selected by individual camera to maximize recording speed. Smart recording shares the full recording speed (30 fps) only between those cameras actually recording at any one time.

Digital Watermarking - can be selected to prove the integrity of recorded videos. This is particularly useful if recording are to be used as evidence in court.

Alarm and Email Functions - the software can be set up to dial out to a remote telephone/cell/pager number on alarm (motion detected) or to be sent to an email address with a snapshot.  Alarm signal inputs and outputs for up to 16 devices can be connected using the GV-I/O adapter.

Audio Recording - a single audio channel can be recorded with any Housechek 600 Series DVR. This requires the addition of the GV-Audio connector. Recorded audio can be played back in sync with a single camera video playback. Live audio is not heard.

Video Exporting - video clips can be exported in .avi format, with time and date stamp and played in Windows Media Player. Single frames can be enhanced for brightness, contrast and sharpness and exported in various graphic formats, or printed directly from the GV600 software.

Communications - remote communication is supported by dail-up server, web-cam server, TCP/IP server and multicast server. All can be turned on or off with just one mouse click. Compression of transmitted images can be set from remote systems as MPEG4 or JPEG, independent of recording compression of the host system. MPEG4 will provide much faster transmission.

Remote System Monitoring - by using the Geocenter communications feature, the video from recording cameras can be sent to a remote system for display and/or recording. The remote system is designated the Geocenter system. Up to 10 DVR's and up to 80 cameras can be monitored by one Geocenter, concurrently.

Remote System Recording/Accessing - remote systems can record locally with internet or client software and host recordings can be accessed remotely by the client software.
